Gigantum Platform Components

The Gigantum Platform consists of several applications and services that can be deployed and used in various configurations. At a high level there are servers, apps, and clients. Servers provide a centralized location for authentication, syncing, backup, collaboration, and in some configurations compute. Apps are used to launch and manage a single Client instance on a host (e.g. a workstation, VM, or laptop). The Client is a web application that is delivered via a Docker container and manages reproducible and portable work environments for data science.

Software and Services that make up the Gigantum Platform

  • Gigantum Hub - A server provided as a SaaS offering. Gigantum Hub is a full featured experience including Project previews and 1-click managed compute. All Gigantum Hub accounts come with some free storage and compute time that can be upgraded for a monthly fee.

  • Gigantum Team Server - A self-hosted server option that comes in a variety of configurations based on your needs. Currently Team Server Standard is available with Team Server Pro and Enterprise Server coming soon.

  • Gigantum Desktop - A desktop application that makes it easy to install Docker and configure, update, and run the Client. The Desktop app is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

  • Gigantum CLI - A python3 command line tool that provides capabilities similar to the Desktop app, but targeting users who prefer the command line or are running on linux host without a GUI (e.g. a remote server via SSH).

  • Gigantum Client - A web application that is packaged in a Docker container and manages reproducible and portable work environments for data science. The Client is MIT-licensed and runs anywhere Docker can, making it easy to move between compute resources as needed.
